Owen and Bender arrive at the Pan
Tyrese Owen and Tom Bender are new at Lewes
Lewes have announced an agreement to sign Tyrese Owen and Tom Bender.
Tyrese signed for Billericay Town in the summer of 2025, and played twenty nine times as the Blues won promotion via the Play Offs.
The midfielder- who can also play at centre back- first came to our attention with Carshalton Athletic, and then went on to play for Haringey Borough during the 21-22 campaign, making twenty nine appearances. He was off to Kingstonian for the 22-23 campaign, when he scored ten goals from thirty two appearances. He also spent time in Sweden, with Ytterhogdals IK.
He played for Slough Town and Hemel Hempstead Town, and had a spell in Wales with Haverfordwest County before moving to Worthing in the summer of 2024. He was a Mackerel Man for almost no time at all before heading to Parkside to join Aveley, and made thirty seven appearances during the 24-25 season.
Tom ended last season at St Albans City, a club where he was already something of a legend, playing seven times after a return from injury.
He joined Billericay in the summer of 2023, and made twenty five appearances during 23-24. He played another twenty five times during the 24-25 season as the Blues missed out on our title by the narrowest of margins.
He moved to New Lodge following a magnificent 22-23 season at Pitching In Isthmian South Central Play Off Finalists Hanworth Villa- and indeed scored the Villains goal in that final. That header was his eleventh goal of the campaign- superb for a defender.
He had previously played at a higher level, some of it much higher. He came through the ranks at Colchester United before graduating to the first team, and moved on to play for Millwall, Dartford, Forest Green Rovers and then St Albans, spending many years as a Saint and making more than two hundred and fifty appearances.
