Peter Taylor is the new Gulls boss

Former Maldon & Tiptree manager takes over at Canvey Island

 

Canvey Island have taken only a few days to find a replacement for the departed Brad Wellmen, as today they have announced the appointment of Peter Taylor. 

 

Peter last came our way when he was manager of Maldon and Tiptree during the 22-23 campaign. He left the Jammers shortly after the 23-24 season kicked off. 

 

Earlier in his career Peter managed Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City, Southend United, Wycombe Wanderers, Bradford City, Dagenham and Redbridge, Stevenage, Welling United and the Bahrain national team. 

 

As a player, he was a full England international, and played club football for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Leyton Orient and Southend United. He also had a spell in charge of the national side, a one game caretaker stint, and he has also managed the Under 21 and Under 20 sides, as well as spending time as Assistant Manager of New Zealand.
