Pitching In Isthmian Supporters Predictions 25-26: Wingate & Finchley

Will Brady brings us a blues view from Summers Lane

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-22 will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Will Brady gives us a guide to the blue corner of North London.

  1. 1. Thinking about last season, what were your highlights?

For me, last season's highlight was beating then-top two Horsham and Billericay away in the space of a week, including an incredible 3-1 win away at Billericay in what was definitely my favourite game of the season.

2. And what was the worst moment?

The low point was our 10-match winless run between November and January, especially near-successive 0-1 home losses to Horsham, Billericay, and Cheshunt.

3. Which member of your squad was your Player of the Season - and why?

Ogo Obi - the league's top scorer - would be the obvious choice, but for me there were a few other players that stood out. I’ve gone with Ben Frempah, who provided consistency and stability at the back as well as being a goal threat from corners.

4. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 25-26 campaign?

Hopefully we'll see some more youth players make their breakthrough with the senior team - Tommy Roberts showed glimpses of promise towards the end of last season before his injury against Cray Wanderers and has looked a bright spark in pre-season. I expect a very successful season from him!

5. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

The ambition as ever will be to finish in the top five and give ourselves a chance to go up. The league is shaping up to be more competitive than ever this season, and i've no doubt will be particularly hard to call. I reckon we'll just miss out and finish about 7th or 8th.

6. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

I'm looking forward to visiting some new grounds - in particular St Albans City, and also some of the south-east coast grounds which I didn't manage to get to last season - the likes of Folkestone and of course newly-promoted Ramsgate

7. What is your favourite Isthmian away ground?

It's a coin-toss between Lewes and Dulwich Hamlet for me - the atmosphere at Dulwich is incredible whilst Lewes is possibly the most scenic ground i've visited in this division - and very easy to get to from the station!

8. If you regularly travelled away, which ground served the best food?

Dulwich Hamlet with their Greek Food stand and Pizza takes the title for me!

9. Who do you think will finish in the top five?

Billericay Town, Chatham Town, St Albans City, Dartford, Aveley
