Premier Supporters Predictions- how did you do?

Last summer- just like every summer- we asked a selection of our supporters to predict the final table. Here’s how you did!

Every summer we ask our supporters to answer questions about their club and to predict the final table, and every summer the outcome provokes debate amongst supporters and club officials alike. Often the predicted tables end up pinned to dressing room walls to use as motivation- we’ve seen the evidence- and, as you will see, on many occasions that seems to work!

Anyway, now that the dust has settled, it’s time to see how you did- starting with Pitching In Isthmian Premier.

Let’s start with the positives- you managed to correctly predict three of the top four! Apart from that…well, let’s just say that fans of Chichester City and Cray Valley PM will be laughing loud and long! Here’s what you suggested would happen:

1. Chatham Town- eventually finished ninth, unable to recapture their 23-24 form.

2. Billericay Town- top marks!

3. Dartford- right again!

4. Horsham- you thought they’d be good, but they were better!

5. Dulwich Hamlet- oh dear. Hamlet had a terrible season, and were lucky that, for four more clubs, it was even more terrible! Eighteenth.

6. Hastings United- oh, how they will wish you’d been right. Twentieth.

7. Dover Athletic- better than you expected, fifth- and, of course, promoted via the Play Offs.

8. Folkestone Invicta- a season of transition for Invicta, twelfth.

9. Bognor Regis Town- you didn’t foresee their relegation, but to be fair we suspect very few did. Twenty first.

10. Lewes- you predicted a mid table season for the Rooks, and you were just about correct. Thirteenth.

11. Hendon- back in our top flight for only one season, and now preparing to start life in Step Four. Nineteenth.

12. Wingate & Finchley- finished eleventh, so you were nearly correct!

13. Carshalton Athletic- the Robins finished in seventh, six points away from the top five.

14. Hashtag United- eight place for the Tags.

15. Whitehawk- you were nearly correct- sixteenth.

16. Cray Wanderers- Wands finished in tenth, boosted particularly by some fine home form in the second half of the campaign.

17. Cray Valley PM- the Millers didn’t ever look like struggling, and their fourth place was well deserved. Our South East promotion winners took to the top flight like a duck to water.

18. Canvey Island- you thought that the Gulls would have their struggles, and you were correct- they finished seventeenth.

19. Cheshunt- the Ambers didn’t, as you predicted, slip to relegation- indeed they put ten points between themselves and the drop zone.

20. Potters Bar Town- despite playing away from home all season the Scholars defied your odds and ended the campaign in fourteenth. They’ll be back home for 25-26.

21. Bowers and Pitsea- you thought Bowers would struggle, and you were right. Twenty second.

22. Chichester City- you’d have struggled to be more wrong on City’s chances. Sixth, three points away from the top five after losing a final day shootout with Dover!

Thanks for all of your help with this feature. We’ll be doing it all again in July!
