Premier Supporters Predictions- how did you do?
Last summer- just like every summer- we asked a selection of our supporters to predict the final table. Here’s how you did!
Every summer we ask our supporters to answer questions about their club and to predict the final table, and every summer the outcome provokes debate amongst supporters and club officials alike. Often the predicted tables end up pinned to dressing room walls to use as motivation- we’ve seen the evidence- and, as you will see, on many occasions that seems to work!
Anyway, now that the dust has settled, it’s time to see how you did- starting with Pitching In Isthmian Premier.
We’d like to start with the positives. You were right about Billericay Town winning promotion (although wrong about how), you predicted Chatham Town’s fourth place, and Canvey Island did indeed go down. Apart from that…we suspect a number of our clubs will be having a right old laugh when reading this!
Here’s what you suggested would happen:
1. Billericay Town- third and Play Off winners
2. Dartford- just missed out on the top five
3. St Albans City- a mixed campaign, and eleventh place
4. Chatham Town- exactly right
5. Welling United- were nowhere near as good as you expected, although ended the season in top five form- finally ending in fifteenth
6. Aveley- the Millers finished the campaign in second place, before falling to Play off Semi-Final defeat
7. Carshalton Athletic- narrowly avoided relegation, 18th
8. Cray Valley PM- relegated- nineteenth
9. Folkestone Invicta- our runaway champions, winning the title by twelve points
10. Chichester City- nearly right- twelfth
11. Hashtag United- relegated in twentieth spot
12. Ramsgate- nearly right- tenth
13. Cray Wanderers- finished seventh, and perhaps would have been higher had they not recorded an incredible sixteen draws
14. Lewes- seventeenth
15. Dulwich Hamlet- ninth
16. Wingate & Finchley- absolutely right, the Blues finished sixteenth and won our League Cup
17. Cheshunt- the Ambers actually finished thirteenth
18. Potters Bar Town- relegated, in twenty first place
19. Canvey Island- relegated, in twenty second place
20. Brentwood Town- a revelation, working enormously hard to prove you wrong. Defeated Play Off Finalists
21. Whitehawk- a mixed campaign, fourteenth
22. Burgess Hill Town- did very well for much of the campaign, and finished the season in eighth
