Shepherd Neame Team of the Season 24-25
Saturday saw our Team of the Season Awards announced- and here are the winners, courtesy of our sponsors, Shepherd Neame
Amongst the Awards announced at our Annual Presentation Evening on Saturday was our Teams of the Season Award, sponsored by our friends at Shepherd Neame- who of course also sponsor our Performance of the Month prize. Here are the winners!
Premier Division
Last season saw Horsham clinch promotion by winning twenty eight of their forty two matches and finishing with a goal difference of +42, one better than second place Billericay Town, and it was just as well as the two sides were level on points! It also saw them win the Sussex Senior Cup for the second season in succession, reach the First Round of the FA Cup, and the Third Round of the FA Trophy- so there is little surprise that they have been named our Shepherd Neame Premier Team of the Season. Congrats once more to all at the club.
North Division
Brentwood Town not only won Pitching In Isthmian North by four points, but they also delivered some life-long memories in the FA Trophy, too, particularly a victory in front of one and a half thousand fans at Hereford's Edgar Street in Round Two and a narrow defeat in a home derby against Southend United in the next round. That made the Blues something of a shoe-in for our Team of the Season Award, courtesy of our friends at Shepherd Neame.
South Central Division
Farnham Town made it two titles in a row- and they did it in style. Town spent the vast majority of the season holding firmly onto the summit, and eventually won the title by twenty points, racking up one hundred and two points, scoring one hundred and twenty goals, and ending the campaign with a rather incredible goal difference of +88! Unsurprisingly, that made them our South Central Team of the Season, courtesy of our sponsors.
South East Division
For most of the campaign, the battle for the title was a double-header, with Ramsgate and Sittingbourne fighting it out. Although the Rams eventually took the prize by eight points, the Brickies still delivered an incredible points tally, finishing on one hundred and one points- and eventually played sixty matches in all competitions, such was their knock out success. The Brickies picked up our Performance of the Month prize for five months in a row, courtesy of giant killings against Dover Athletic, Winchester City, Enfield Town, Salisbury and, of course, Southend United, the latter, in front of nearly five thousand fans at Roots Hall, one of those memories that will last an entire lifetime.
Our sponsors, Shepherd Neame, seem to have spent most of the season at Woodstock Park, so it seems only right that the Brickies pick up our Team of the Season prize too!
Many thanks to our sponsors, Shepherd Neame, the oldest brewers in Britain. With pubs and hotels across the country, Shepherd Neame should be your first choice for accommodation after a long away trip, or just for a refreshing drink or a nice meal before or after the game. You can find out more about what they have to offer by heading to their website- here.
