Shomotun makes a Wings move
Fumnaya Shomotun flies into Welling
Welling United have brought Fumnaya Shomotun to the club.
He was a bright spark for Cray Valley PM last season, but leaves the club following their relegation. He became a Miller initially on loan from Tonbridge Angels during 24-25, and then joined permanently. He made forty nine appearances, and scored seven goals last season, following thirty one with four goals in 24-25.
Fumnaya was a youth player with Brentford and Barnet, before becoming a full time Bee. Whilst at Barnet he had Isthmian loan time with Staines Town and Margate, and went on to play for Hayes & Yeading United, Wingate & Finchley and Kingstonian. Midway through the 22-23 season he arrived at Sevenoaks Town, and was an enormous success in a creative role, playing twenty two times and scoring six goals during that first campaign and following that with thirty appearances during the 23-24 season, when he scored four goals. He was picked up by Dartford, then in National League South, in January 2024- and went on to play sixteen times before signing for Angels in the summer of that year.
