The Rooks can fly to the summit- as most of our top flight takes a break to focus on the Cup

Most of our top flight sides are in FA Cup action, but we do have a couple of Pitching In Isthmian Premier fixtures, too.

Fourth place Lewes will travel to Cheshunt aware that victory would take them to the top of the table, with the top three still in the Cup. The Rooks have won five of their last six, whilst their hosts are yet to win this season and are looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat. The last four meetings between the sides brought two Lewes wins and two draws, the Rooks taking four points from the Ambers in both of the last two campaigns. 

Maldon and Tiptree have had a mixed start to the campaign, with three wins and three defeats, but given the off-field issues they’ve had until their recent takeover they’ll be delighted with their sixteenth spot. They are back on their own patch, with Carshalton Athletic making the trip. The Robins started the season like an express train but have lost their last three, conceding three goals on each occasion and scoring only two of their own in total. 

In the FA Cup Aveley host Brentwood Town, the Millers still looking for their form after three defeats from four in the League, whilst their visitors are- as we write- bottom of our top flight and without a manager following Keith Rowland’s departure in midweek. 

Leaders Enfield Town will try to put their defeat in midweek behind them as they travel to take on National League South side Billericay Town, Billericay in good form after a positive start to their Step Two return; whilst Cray Wanderers are also taking on National League South opposition, Maidstone United -leading the way with five wins from six- travelling to Flamingo Park. 

Dartford are the hosts for Hayes and Yeading United, the Darts in third place in our top flight after three wins in a row- whilst Hayes have had a mixed start to the South Central season with only one win from four so far. Dulwich Hamlet, in ninth, take a break from the Premier Division but not from Premier Division opponents, Welling United heading to Champion Hill. Welling have won five of their last six, Hamlet are looking for a third win in a row, and both sides triumphed in their home meetings last season.

Eastbourne Borough have looked to be finding their feet, winning their last two matches in the League, and welcome South Central opposition, Windsor & Eton making the trip from river to sea. The visitors have shown some decent form this season but will want to bounce back from a hammering at the hands of AFC Portchester last weekend.

Burgess Hill Town hit the road to Pitching In Southern Premier side Hanwell Town. The Geordies are struggling a little, third from bottom after only one win so far this season, whilst the Hillians have been in good form, eight unbeaten in League and Cup.

Wingate and Finchley will hope to build upon their win at Aveley on Monday as they head to National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town. That victory allowed the Blues to put two defeats behind them, whilst their hosts sit in sixteenth. The Tudors are five without a win, but have drawn their last three. Leatherhead travel to take on Kingstonian, the Tanners- who were unbeaten on the road last season- showing similar form on their travels this season, with three wins and a draw from four away matches. Eight competitive matches for the K’s this season have brought only one defeat, and that on penalties in the FA Trophy. 

Chatham Town travel to Slough Town, the hosts second from bottom in National League South but having finally picked up a victory last time out after starting the campaign with seven consecutive defeats. The Chats have three defeats from four in the League but will be rather keen on causing an upset, and confident that they can do so.

National League South Tonbridge Angels are the hosts for Ramsgate. The Rams have taken seven points from their last three matches, whilst Angels have had a really positive start to their League campaign, but their good form has come on the road, where they are unbeaten. On their own patch they have three defeats from four.

St Albans City travel to Witham Town. The hosts will want to bounce back from midweek defeat, when they turned a two-nil lead to a four-two defeat, whilst the Saints are six unbeaten in League and Cup.
