Thomas, Tinubu and Chukwu are new in Blue

Wingate and Finchley bring in Jack Thomas, Tobi Tinubu and Anointed Chukwu

Wingate and Finchley have been busy finalising their squad prior to Saturday's big kick off, and each of their new arrivals will be familiar to watchers of the Pitching In Isthmian League.

Jack Thomas comes in from Welling United, whom he joined in October last year, and went on to play thirty one times.

Jack came through the Bishop's Stortford Academy before making his first team debut at eighteen years of age. The midfielder played two hundred and thirty seven times for the Blues and became something of a legend, winning our Premier Division title and playing at National League North level. He has also spent time at Concord Rangers.

He moved to Cheshunt in the summer of 2024, and made thirty nine appearances during the 24-25 season, scoring three goals, before a switch to Cambridge City, where he played four times in April 2025. He joined Royston Town in the summer of 2025 before that Welling move.

Tobi Tinubu makes a move from Aveley, where the full back played forty times last season. He made the trip to Parkside from Canvey Island, the defender playing forty six times during the 24-25 season.

Tobi became something of a terrace hero for the Gulls over four seasons after joining the club from Tower Hamlets, the highlights undoubtedly promotion in his first season and winning the Essex County Cup in 23-24- although there was a Play Off campaign in between!

Anointed Chukwu, a forward, makes a move from Chippenham Town- but Blues fans will remember him fondly, as he scored eighteen goals for the North Londoners during the 23-24 campaign, helping them to the Play Off Semi-Finals and playing forty seven times.

In his youth, he played for Crystal Palace Under 16's and was scouted by several Premier Division clubs, having a trial at Southampton, before moving to Salford City. He had a loan spell with Widnes during the 2019-20 season which saw him score seven goals in fifteen Pitching In Northern League North West appearances, and also got three in seven on loan to Ramsbottom United in the same division. He then spent time with East Thurrock United, and with Cheshunt, before a successful spell at Grays Athletic.

His time at Summers Lane came next, and then he moved on to Welling United, Enfield Town and Worthing before that move to Chippenham.
