Wheeler back at the Hill

Wheeler back at the Hill

Nicky Wheeler returns to Burgess Hill Town after many years away and much success

Burgess Hill Town have announced the arrival of Nicky Wheeler- and we are both surprised and delighted at this news, as we understood that he was retiring at the end of the season just completed, a season where he played an important role as Worthing won promotion to Non-League's top flight!

He spent three years at Worthing, winning the Goal of the Season and Supporters Player of the Season during 24-25. He played twenty three times in 25-26.

Nicky's last time at Hill was way back in 2012-13, but he has spent much of his career higher up the pyramid. He came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic, made a name for himself at Lewes, and then progressed to Tonbridge Angels, Dagenham and Redbridge, and, during the tumultuous Tamplin years,  winning promotion to National League South with Billericay Town.

He went on to have spells at Eastbourne Borough and Woking, and then became a mainstay of the Dorking Wanderers side which earned promotion to the National League.
