Wright gets Wings
Stefan Wright is the first Welling United summer arrival
Welling United have announced that their first summer signing is Stefan Wright.
Stefan was a graduate of the Bromley Academy and went on to play for Beckenham Town, Phoenix Sports, Staines Town, Sittingbourne, Greenwich Borough, Cray Wanderers and Sevenoaks Town. He was an enormous part of Whitehawk's promotion from the South East Division, playing thirty nine times and scoring three goals, and then went on to make twenty nine appearances for the Hawks as they enjoyed their first top flight campaign in 23-24. He followed that with twenty four Hawks appearances in 24-25, and another forty one last season.
Manager Ryan Maxwell explained:
“Stefan is a player that no winger likes playing against- he’s tenacious quick and full of energy!” “He’s got a desire to succeed and was delighted to agree to be part of this club as he’s a south London lad. He’s got tools, one being an enormous throw. He’s a player who I believe can still improve and has the right attitude to do so.”
