Founded in 2003, Punjab United FC was established to bring entertaining football to the Gravesend community while welcoming players and members of all ages, backgrounds, religions, abilities and sexual orientations. From the beginning, the club has been built on strong community values and a commitment to developing local talent.

Starting in the North Kent Sunday Football League, the club earned back-to-back promotions before making the transition into Saturday senior football. That decision proved transformational, with Punjab United winning the Kent County League Premier Division and the Kent Intermediate Challenge Cup in the 2016/17 season.

Success continued as the club joined the Southern Counties East Football League (SCEFL), winning the Division One title in 2017/18 to secure a second successive promotion. Off the pitch, volunteers worked tirelessly to develop the club's facilities, creating a modern home that continues to improve the matchday experience.

Since reaching Step 5 of the National League System, Punjab United has enjoyed memorable FA Cup and FA Vase campaigns, gained national recognition through a BBC documentary, and successfully navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the club honoured the late Steve "Cookie" Cook by renaming its ground the Steve Cook Stadium in recognition of his outstanding contribution.

Another major achievement came in the 2022/23 season when Punjab United lifted the DFDS Kent Senior Trophy with a commanding 6-0 victory over Deal Town.

The club's greatest milestone to date came in the 2025/26 season, when Punjab United secured promotion to Step 4 of the National League System after a dramatic play-off victory over Rusthall FC. That historic campaign was further enhanced by an outstanding run to the FA Vase Semi-Final and reaching the Kent Senior Trophy Final, cementing the club's status as one of Kent's leading non-league success stories.

More than two decades after its formation, Punjab United FC remains true to the values on which it was founded, community, ambition and opportunity, proudly living by its motto: Pride. Passion. Punjab.
