Freddie Sears swaps the Jammers for Brentwood Town
Brentwood Town have announced the signing of golden boot winner Freddie Sears.
Striker Freddie took our most precious trophy along with a Pitching In Isthmian North title winners medal with Maldon & Tiptree last season. He was also named in our Managers Team of the Season for 25-26, rather unsurprisingly, and scored twenty nine goals.
Freddie came through the youth setup at West Ham United before forcing his way into first team reckoning, making his Premier League debut aged eighteen and going on to make almost a half century of Hammers appearances. Loan spells at Crystal Palace, Colchester United, Scunthorpe United and Coventry City followed, before a permanent move to Ipswich Town, and he made more than two hundred appearances for the Tractor Boys.
2021 saw him return permanently to Colchester United, and his next move was to Dagenham and Redbridge. He ended the 23-24 season at Braintree Town before signing on at Chatham in the summer of 2024, and had a fine campaign, scoring twenty four goals in his forty eight matches.
