Your Favourite Isthmian Ground

Your Favourite Isthmian Ground

We’ve been asking our supporters to name their favourite Pitching In Isthmian Ground and…we’re sure you can guess the rest!

For eight years we have asked you to nominate your favourite Pitching In Isthmian ground, and this season we had more nominees than ever before. Nineteen clubs ended up on our longlist, many of them for the first time.

Highly commended in this category were: Eastbourne Town, Wingate & Finchley, Harrow Borough, Faversham Town, Hastings United, Binfield, Witham Town, Walthamstow, Uxbridge, Wroxham, Horsham, Met Police and Carshalton Athletic. Now, onto the top six!

In joint fourth place: Dartford, Billericay Town and Margate

In third place: Sheppey United

And then we had a tussle over first. Early in the voting it looked as if we might have a new ‘champion,’ but as it turned out a late flurry of votes ensured that a familiar name pulled victory out of the ‘pan!’

Second place: Dulwich Hamlet

First place: Lewes

The Rooks have now won this award seven times out of eight, and really it can be no surprise. The Dripping Pan is a fabulous place to watch football, and it is full of fabulous people, too, which only improves the experience. And the views of the South Downs can distract you on the odd occasion that the football doesn’t live up to expectations!

Congratulations to every club who picked up votes, but, as usual, the most congratulations go to the fine folk of lovely Lewes. For an Isthmian, going down the Pan is always a positive!
