Bostik Supporters Predictions 18/19: Burgess Hill Town

Jack Naldrett gives us the low down on the most successful team in Mid Sussex- and shares his love for Super Pat Harding!

We asked supporters of our Bostik League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

Here are the views of Jack, a lover of The Green Elephants!

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

My favourite moment of last season has to be Tonbridge Away. We went 1-0 up very early on and from then on it was park the bus mode for 80 minutes! Somehow we came away with the 1-0 win; but I went through every emotion possible during that game!

2. And your worst moment?

The worst moment (and there’s a few to choose from) was probably a 5-0 defeat at home to Lowestoft Town. Our boys didn’t turn up, and everything they touched went in.
Bad day at the office all round.

3. How will you do this season?

I honestly believe we will do much better than in previous seasons, maybe even mid-table! We have made some great signings and kept the core of the squad, so a mid-table, carefree finish is very achievable!

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

On a personal level, the match I am most looking forward to going to is Dorking Wanderers away. There is a growing dislike between both our clubs due to events last season- and with Dorking having a new stadium, it’s another one to tick off the list!

5. What is your favourite away ground?

I think Champion Hill (Dulwich) and The Dripping Pan (Lewes) are my two favourite away grounds.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

As mentioned above, our fans aren’t really keen on Dorking, but our local Bostik rivals are probably Worthing. They aren’t the closest to us but for a while we were the only Sussex teams In the Bostik Prem, so we fought for the Pride of Sussex!

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

My advice would be, if you’re traveling by train, don’t get off at Burgess Hill train station! There’s a much closer train station called Wivesfield which Is only a 2 minute walk to our ground! It’s a common mistake to make!

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

When you talk about Burgess Hill legends, you can’t look any further than “Super Pat Harding!” Over 100 goals for the Hill and a true legend of non-league! You won’t find anyone who is anti-Harding at Burgess Hill, I assure you!!!

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?
Kingstonian, Dorking Wanderers, Whitehawk, Worthing, Tonbridge Angels

Where next?

Barking bring in two- and give away one hundred Two blues arrive- and community initiative launched
