Cash comes with welcome upgrade!

Sittingbourne's players and their opponents are enjoying an upgrade in facilities at the Ryman South club's home after the Brickies scooped first prize in a business competition!

Delighted Brickies officials are pictured collecting a giant cheque for £1,000 to spend on repairs and refurbishment at Woodstock Park after winning SES Business Water's Pick’n’Fix competition.

The Brickies say they entered the competition in the hope of securing desperately needed funds for repairs, with their changing room showers the Kentish club's top priority.

Following the visit by SES Business Water to present the cheque and help with repairs as part of their prize, officials are also looking forward to saving money on their utility bills. Apart from carrying out extensive repairs, engineers also discovered that two of the changing room showers were constantly running and immediately got to work shutting them off!

Sittingbourne committee member Danny Appleton said: “We’ve been fundraising to make some essential improvements to the clubhouse for a while now, so the money will come in really useful. SES Business Water have gone the extra mile – they’ve already carried out fixes in the clubhouse as part of the prize and they will be helping us to do more repairs."

A SES Business Water spokesman said: “Sittingbourne FC are truly deserving winners and we were glad to hear that they were really pleased with the prize.”
