Gate go for Brown, whilst Alexander picks up a title winner

Midfielder for Margate, goalkeeper for Gary

Margate have announced the signing of Dartford midfielder Alex Brown.

Brown, who turned out 23 times for Darts as they were narrowly pipped to the National South title- on goal difference- by Havant and Waterlooville last season, and indeed played in the playoff Semi-Final defeat to eventually promoted Braintree, may be remembered by Bostik League fans from his time at Leatherhead a couple of years ago.

Meanwhile the Nuts and Bolts faithful will have a new keeper to cheer next season- and what a keeper! Gary Alexander's side have already made a number of notable signings this week, but perhaps the signing of AFC Hornchurch keeper Sam Mott trumps the lot (no rhyme intended!). Mott turned out 48 times for the Urchins last season as they swept to the North Division title whilst conceding only thirty five goals- the meanest defence not only in the Division but in the entire Bostik League.
