Happy Christmas Mr Groundsman!

Known by all as 'Ginger Blue', the lifelong fan decided to fork out for the tractor after learning that their old one had been on its last legs since the summer, forcing the club to rely on one kindly loaned by local firm Ben Burgess Limited.

After posing with a delighted Page and his new pride and joy on Tuesday, the supporter told the club's fans he was delighted to help keep a ground he regards as a "second home" in top condition with his festive gift.

He told the club's website: “I have always supported the football club, since 1958 when my grandad was involved here, it’s always been my passion. I’ve supported them all my life.

"As far as the money was concerned, I am luckily enough to be in the position to help, where I wasn’t 10 or so years ago, so it’s great that I am now in the position to help the club. This is my second home, I have always regarded Crown Meadow as my home away from home. It’s a passion, I have always enjoyed my football.

"I get as much passion from watching the Trawler Boys as I do watching the higher leagues on the TV. I would rather watch our lads here at Crown Meadow then watching Premier League and international football. I really wish I could do more, and I hope there are individuals out there like myself who are willing to help the club.”

Lowestoft Town chairman Gary Keyzor said: "This was a very kind gesture of Kevin and now allows our groundsman to complete his pitch work. There are always items the club requires and if any other town supporter can help in any way then please do get in touch."
