Heavy rain leads to first postponements

Ryman League

Whyteleafe and Chipstead fans hoping to see their sides in Bank Holiday Monday action will have to wait for another day after the Ryman South clash was postponed at lunchtime.

Disappointed officials at Church Road were forced to call off the fixture after heavy rain led to drainage problems with the new 3G artificial turf surface installed by last season's promoted Southern Counties East League champions over the summer.

Worthing's match at home to Horsham in Ryman South was also hit by the weather while in the Premier Division, Kingstonian's clash with VCD Athletic and the Metropolitan Police's match against Hampton & Richmond Borough at Imber Court were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
