Ryman South Folkestone Invicta are urging their fans to vote for former star Johan Ter Horst in their local newspaper’s annual sports awards.

The teenager striker, a key figure in Invicta’s run to runners-up spot in Ryman South in 2013-14 and the play-off final at The Fullicks Stadium in May, is now at Hull City after earning a move to the Premier League on a three year contract.

The 18-year-old, pictured, is a product of the club’s successful youth set-up and has been nominated in the 'sports star of the year' category in awards which are run by the Folkestone Herald and its sister newspapers around Kent in the KM Media Group.

The gala finals take place at Eastwell Manor in January and Invicta officials are now putting up posters around the ground ahead of the weekend's action to register their support before the competition's closing date for voting on Sunday 23 November.

Invicta spokesman Mick Cork said: "Our Johan is up against some fairly stiff opposition for the newspaper’s award –so please remember that every vote counts and you could be helping raise the profile of both this outstanding young product of our youth section and Folkestone Invicta FC."
