It's been a big week for Margate

A collection of signings- and some important news off the field

Margate have had a busy week. Yesterday they announced a collection of new signings- and we'll get to those in a moment- but perhaps the most momentous item of news to come from Hartsdown Park this week is about Hartsdown Park itself!

On Monday the club announced that, at an Extraordinary General Meeting, they had agreed the purchase of the freehold for their ground from Thanet District Council. This purchase protects the site for football, but also includes land which will allow for expansion of the ground, for improved facilities, and for commercial activity which will help build the club a more sustainable future. The club and council have been working together for eighteen months to achieve this outcome, and are understandably delighted to finally get the deal done. You can read more about this story here.

Now, getting back to matters on the pitch, the club yesterday announced that midfielder Bradley Stevenson had signed on a months loan from Gillingham- and that he has been joined by Crystal Palace winger Joseph Hungbo. The final item of good news was that previous loanee Dave Martin will now be remaining at the club until the end of the season. You can read more about those signings here.
