Keeper departs down under

Urchins keeper Joe Woolley is leaving the Ryman League to head down under to play in Australia.

An ever-present in goal for AFC Hornchurch last season in Conference South, he is expected to fly out in the next few weeks after his departure from the Premier Division's new boys was confirmed on Friday.

It was a case of one in and one out for Urchins manager Jimmy McFarlane with Derek Duncan arriving at Upminsters's Hornchurch Stadium after making the switch from Conference South Maidenhead United.

Duncan can play as a winger or as a left-back and joined the Magpies last season after spells with Grays Athletic, Wycombe Wanderers, AFC Wimbledon, Ebbsfleet United and Woking. He joined the Cards in the summer of 2011 before making 22 starting appearances for their championship-winning side.
