Kimble bags Hammers keeper

West Ham keeper Sam Baxter has joined Garry Kimble's high-flying Witham Town squad in Ryman North.

The Essex-born 18-year-old has arrived at Spa Road on a youth loan from the Premier League outfit and could feature on Saturday when Witham host Heybridge Swifts.

Town are second in the league as manager Kimble, pictured, continues to fine tune his squad. As well as signing Baxter, he has also brought in defender Luke Olley who was recently on the books at Conference South side Tonbridge Angels.

The former QPR centre-half almost quit the game this year following an injury picked up while on loan that kept him out for 18 months and led to him being released by the Championship club. But after spending a couple of weeks training with Havant & Waterlooville, he was persuaded to join Tonbridge last month by former QPR team-mate Gary Borrowdale.

Witham's manager has also let two players go this week, right-back Scott Pethers and keeper Danny Sambridge.
