McMahon makes it a double

THE Macron awards for February have been announced, and Thamesmead Town boss Keith McMahon has been named Macron Manager of the Month for the second month running.

His side maintained their surge into the forefront of the Ryman North promotion race by winning all their five league matches during the month, earning McMahon the prize for the division.

Another side in excellent recent form are Metropolitan Police, and their manager Jim Cooper takes the Ryman Premier award. The Met won five of their six league matches during February.

Dulwich Hamlet had four wins, one draw and one defeat during February, the best record in Ryman South, and so Gavin Rose wins the Macron award in that division for the third time in four months. Although only league matches count towards this award, Dulwich also reached the League Cup final during February.

The Macron Team Performance of the Month award in the Premier goes to Harrow Borough for their 3-1 victory over Whitehawk on the Saturday before last. Harrow were in 19th place, 36 points behind their table-topping opponents, but came from behind to inflict the Sussex side’s fourth defeat of the season.

A victory over the runaway leaders was also the reason why Cheshunt were picked for the Ryman North award. Maldon & Tiptree were 13 points clear when they travelled to Cheshunt on February 16 but the home side, in 16th place, pulled off a 2-0 win.

For Three Bridges, a thumping 4-1 home win over neighbours Horsham on February 23 has been the highlight of a difficult debut season in the league. They were ten points adrift at the foot of the Ryman South table before kick-off and had gone 16 games without a league victory since beating Whitstable in mid-November. So the Jubilee Field club are the Macron Team Performance winners for their division.

Where next?

Maidstone to stage League Cup final THE league has maintained its progressive tradition by announcing that the Isthmian League Cup final between Concord Rangers and Dulwich Hamlet will be played at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium, which boasts an artificial pitch, on Tuesday April 9.
Another stalemate on Sunday GOALS again proved elusive at Cray today (Sunday), where Leiston were the visitors in a game that became the fourth 0-0 draw of the Ryman Premier weekend and the ninth in all three divisions.
