The former Ryman Premier golden boot winner didn't score on his debut in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Lowestoft after signing for manager Mark Morlsey 24 hours earlier but he played his part in the Marketmen taking a point home from Crown Meadow.
The 29-year-old arrived at Bloomfields from King's Lynn Town after spending much at last season in National League North at Boston United and the campaign before at Leiston's Victory Road. Sands initially linked up with Lynn in February in a loan move from the Pilgrims and went on to score six goals in 10 appearances before signing a permanent deal at The Walks this summer.
A prolific scorer wherever he has been, Sands first made his name at Mildenhall Town and Bury Town before scoring goals for Canvey Island and briefly for Chelmsford City in an injury-blighted spell.
He left Lynn just three games into the season and a Marketmen spokesman said: "Sandsy needs no introduction to Ryman League Football having previously played at Bury Town and Leiston. He is a quality addition to our squad and we are delighted he has agreed to join Needham Market FC. On behalf of everyone at NMFC we welcome him to the club."
Morsley has also boosted his squad with the month long loan signing of Colchester United's young midfielder Jack Curtis and former Leiston and Bury Town attacking midfielder Billy Clark. Curtis made his mark within ten minutes of making his home debut in the Ryman's top flight when he opened the scoring in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Burgess Hill Town on the opening day of the season.
