Precision Golden Gloves Awards

October’s winners of the Ryman League’s 'Precision Golden Gloves Awards' have been named as Maidstone United’s Lee Worgan, VCD Athletic’s Nick Blue and Hythe Town’s Dan Eason.

The trio are the second set of monthly winners of the Ryman’s ‘safe hands’ accolade which returned in September with new sponsors from Nottingham-based Reydon Sports PLC - the UK's largest sports and leisure wholesale and distribution company.

Thanks to their Precision Goalkeeping brand, Britain’s fastest growing, the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South stoppers will receive a Golden Glove Award and a pair of Precision Goalkeeping gloves as prizes.

Top flight winner Worgan switched to the Gallagher Stadium in the summer from Conference South Tonbridge. Included in the Conference South Team of the Year last season, the former Welsh U21 international started out in the youth ranks at Wimbledon and went on to play for Wycombe Wanderers, Rushden & Diamonds, Cardiff City, Merthyr Tydfil, Eastbourne Borough and Hastings United before moving to Tonbridge in 2008 and helping them win promotion.

VCD Athletic’s keeper Blue kept two clean sheets and was only beaten once in three league games as the Ryman North’s leaders continued their relentless march at the top of the table. The former Beckenham Town, Erith Town and Holmesdale keeper signed for the Vickers in October 2012.

Like Blue at VCD, Hythe Town’s Dan Eason kept two clean sheets and was only beaten once in three Ryman South games. The 24-year-old joined Hythe in January looking for a fresh challenge after five years at Herne Bay where he enjoyed success in the Kent League Championship, Kent League Cup and played an integral part in Bay's run to an FA Vase Semi-Final.

September’s inaugural winners of the 'Precision Golden Gloves Awards’ were Bognor Regis Town's Mark Zawadski, Guernsey's Chris Tardif and Tilbury's Chico Ramos.

Precision Goalkeeping boast an impressive list of keeping talent on their books including Kasper Schmeichel, Kieren Westwood, Tomasz Kuszczak, Darren Randolph, David Forde, Frank Fielding, Brian Jensen, Robert Olejnik, Andy Lonergan, Ian McLoughlin, Trevor Carson and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach and former international Alan Kelly.

Former England manager Graham Taylor is lead ‘brand ambassador’ for the company which was established in 2005 and also has official partnerships with the Irish Football Association and the Football Association of Wales.
