Pompey swap for Bognor

Rocks maintain their Pompey loan quota as one leaves and another arrives

Yesterday Bognor Regis Town were dismayed to hear that Portsmouth striker Dan Smith, scorer or twelve goals this season, had been relocated by his parent club to League of Ireland Premier Division club Cork City. But their misery was short lived, as today manager Jack Pearce has been able to confirm a replacement- another Portsmouth loanee, Leon Maloney.

Maloney, an attacking midfielder, goes straight into the squad to entertain Haringey Borough tomorrow, and Pearce, speaking to the Bognor Observer, explained:

“Leon is highly thought-of at Pompey and we're delighted to be able to have him with us until the end of the season. Our relationship with Pompey is excellent and we look forward to helping to develop Leon, as we have with other players on loan.”
