Supreme Engraving Awards UK- Performance of the Month, December 2018

By Ian Townsend

We had so many goals and top performances in December that our shortlist was anything but! Who came out on top?

We had a really difficult job deciding on the best performances of December, but here are the results of the Bostik jury!

Premier Division: Wingate and Finchley might not be having much luck in the League, but in cup competitions they’ve been phenomenal. It’s perhaps rather ironic that they became famous across the internet in December for not managing to score in one particular attack against National League South side Dulwich Hamlet, when the two goals that did go in were hardly seen! Anyway, we are rewarding them for that success – and they pick up the trophy for the second month in a row. Congratulations to all at Summers Lane.

North Division: Tilbury have been on a magnificent run recently, but high-flyers Aveley were expected to put an end to all that. Instead the opposite happened, and Oliver Spooner, Lewis Smith and George Sykes walloped three goals without reply to give Marc Harrison’s men a terrific victory. The Dockers have won five of their last seven matches, so perhaps they may be amongst our high-flyers if things continue. Well done to all at Chadfields.

South Central Division: Bracknell Town arrived at Wodson Park hoping to end the day at the South Central summit, but instead the Robins had their feathers well and truly plucked by Ware. Paul Halsey’s men walloped seven goals past a stunned Bracknell defence, and in a month which saw several outstanding results for South Central Division sides we decided that this 7-2 victory was the best of the bunch.

South East Division: Herne Bay went into their match at Whitstable Town without a win in more than two months, but turned the form book on its head with a 4-0 victory. Bradley Schafer, Jake Embery, Miles Cornwell and Thomas Carlton silenced the crowd at the Belmont Ground and gave Bay fans something to sing about- and the side seemed to have used this performance as a catalyst, winning twice more since.
