Supreme Engraving Awards UK- Performance of the Month, January 2019

Our first victors of 2019 are as follows:

Premier Division:

We seem to be regularly giving this prize to sides who triumph in cup competitions- and why should January by any different? Steve Claridge’s Salisbury came to Colston Avenue in the FA Trophy with hope- but Carshalton Athletic made sure they left with nothing but dismay, walloping their Southern Premier opponents four-one. Congratulations to Peter Adeniyi and his Robins.

North Division:

Heybridge Swifts were on a marvellous run, six wins and a draw from seven matches having propelled them up the table. But then they bumped into an inspired Soham Town Rangers, for whom Sam Mulready and Callum Russell contributed three goals in a 3-1 victory at Julius Martin Lane. Rangers followed this up with a 3-0 thumping of in-form Tilbury, but we went with their first result against Julian Dicks men and decided that they were worthy winners of January’s award.

South Central Division:

Marlow fans have had much to sing about this season, and at the time of writing are sitting in second place in the Bostik South Central table. Their last match of January saw them travel to Hanwell Town, and given the Geordies were unbeaten in three they undoubtedly had hope of another positive result- but Marlow put paid to that in style, walloping home six goals without reply, including a James Clark hat trick.

South East Division:

For the second month in a row, the plaudits go to Herne Bay. Hastings United arrived at Altira Park in second place, hoping for three points which would help them close the gap on leaders Cray Wanderers- but they left with none, and on the end of a hiding. Danny Leonard and Jake Embery got two goals each as the home side won by four goals to one.
