Ryman South leaders Walton Casuals earned a seventh consecutive win over an in-form Burgess Hill Town side on Tuesday night to move eight points clear at the top of the table, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Malik Ouani fired Casuals into the lead with a magnificent volley from 20 yards via the bar after 24 minutes. But the Hillians responded instantly when Max Miller levelled just two minutes later.

Bobby Traynor then dispatched a 71st minute penalty and two minutes later saw a second penalty saved by Alan Mansfield, who had hauled down Jamil Okai seconds before only to receive a yellow card in the 2-1 defeat for the visitors.

Peacehaven & Telscombe did Casuals a favour by winning 1-0 at second-placed Crawley Down Gatwick. Ashley Jones scored the only goal of the game with 20 minutes remaining.

Another Sussex side, relegated Hastings United, are third after winning 2-0 at Herne Bay with goals from Sean Kelly after 29 minutes and Matt Darby five minutes from time.

Redhill moved into the top five after a good 2-0 success at Goring's Mead against Horsham. Richmond Kissi after 66 minutes and Jon Difford 12 minutes from time were on target for the visitors.

Eastbourne Town are still bottom and win-less, but recorded a useful point from a 1-1 draw at the Buzzlines Stadium against Folkestone Invicta. Indeed, it looked as though Town were heading for that elusive first win when they led through Billy Medlock's 31st minute effort until five minutes from the end when Roland Edge grabbed the home side's leveller.

Faversham Town and Whitstable Town shared a goalless local derby, as did Sittingbourne and Corinthian-Casuals, while another all-Kent affair saw Ramsgate edge out Hythe Town 1-0 at the Southwood Stadium, thanks to a Macauley Murray effort on the half-hour mark.

Paul Kennett grabbed a stoppage time winner for Worthing in a 2-1 success at Merstham after Lee Newman had equalised Mark Knee's 39th minute opener for the Rebels with 12 minutes to go.

Tooting & Mitcham United were the night's other winners, and comprehensively at Three Bridges. Lee Carney gave the home side the boost of a ninth minute lead that Troy Williams cancelled out just two minutes later. Aaron Dalhouse put the Terrors in front after 37 minutes and then Francis Quarm on 63 minutes and Sol Pinnock eight minutes from time, earmed the Terrors one of their best wins of the season to date.
