Two new Tanners, one for Worthing, and one for Hertford Town

By Ian Townsend

A number of new signings were announced on Friday evening

Leatherhead have experienced something of a slump of late, and manager Nikki Bull has made changes in an attempt to arrest their slide, following last weekend's hammering at the hands of Folkestone Invicta. First in was midfielder Jerry Amoo, who turned out at Fetcham Grove for Kingstonian last season as well as playing for Whyteleafe, and has joined on a dual deal from Chelmsford City.

Joining Amoo is former Kingstonian defender Charlie Wassmer. Wassmer first came to prominence whilst with Hayes and Yeading, his performances earning him a move to then National League leaders Crawley Town, where he was an important part of the Red Devils defence as they beat AFC Wimbledon to promotion to League Two. He began the following campaign in the Football League before being unfairly scapegoated by then Reds manager Steve Evans after a heavy defeat at Morecambe. Since then he has turned out at Fleetwood Town, Cambridge United and Margate, amongst others, and has joined the Tanners on loan from Woking. More on those moves here.

Down on the Sussex coast Worthing fans will be celebrating the return of Reece Meekums, on loan from Bromley. Meekums turned out 34 times for the Mackerel Men last season on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, his performances earning him a permanent deal with Bromley in the summer. More on that signing here.

Finally, Hertford Town have secured the return of a former favourite, midfielder Charlie Edwards. Edwards heads back to Hertingfordbury Park from Harlow Town, and you can read about that at the Hawks website, here.
