Ebbsfleet striker Phil Walsh will kick off in the Ryman League in August after signing for Premier Division Margate.

The ex-Football League frontman, 29, is the son of former Bristol City and Besiktas striker Alan Walsh and left the Conference South outfit on Friday.

A versatile and physical player who can also play in the centre of defence, Walsh was at Dagenham & Redbridge and also spent time at both Barnet and Cheltenham on loan.

He started his career in the West Country at Almondsbury Town before moving to Clevedon Town in 2003. After a brief move to Taunton Town, he spent three seasons at Bath City before spells at Newport County, Tiverton Town and Dorchester Town and Hayes & Yeading.

Walsh signed for Ebbsfleet in 2012, scoring five times in 35 appearances.
