Wanderers go to City Hall- with a wheelbarrow!

Cray Wanderers visit the Mayor of London

It's just over a month since the London Borough of Bromley gave permission for Cray Wanderers proposed new stadium at Flamingo Park- but Wanderers haven't stopped to celebrate. Instead they've been busy gathering support from local politicians and local residents, and today they delivered thousands of letters of support directly to London Mayor Sadiq Khan- by wheelbarrow!

Wanderers- who have now been sharing with Bromley for best part of two decades- have had planning permission granted previously, only for Mayor Khan to pull the plug. Whilst they have modified their proposals in line with Mayoral wishes, today's visit by club officials, local politicians and enthusiastic supporters was designed to demonstrate to those at City Hall the strength of feeling in the local community, who will benefit enormously if the new stadium gets the go ahead.

If you live in the London area, their visit to the portals of London power will feature on feature on London Live News this evening. London Live can be found on Freeview Channel 8, Sky 117 and Virgin 159.

Wanderers on the march!

Wanderers on the march!

The very best of luck to all at Cray- hopefully we'll have some good news to bring you soon, and London's oldest football club will finally have a home of their own once more.
