Wednesday's Ryman Premier action review

Ryman League

Lewes finally ended a poor run of eleven games without a win which has seen them plummet down the Ryman Premier table on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Rooks, whose last victory was against Maidstone United on March 4, increased the pressure on Wingate & Finchley with a 3-0 Dripping Pan victory that leaves the visitors fourth-bottom, level on points with the team immediately above them, East Thurrock United.

The Blues held their own during the opening 45 minutes, which finished goalless. But 11 minutes into the second half the Rooks broke the deadlock through Jack Dixon. And then a Luke Blewden brace in the 76th and 87th minutes killed off Wingate`s challenge and ended Lewes' awful run.
