Wingate legend comes to Town

From Summers Lane to Donkey Lane, Weatherstone moves on

A few weeks ago we celebrated as Marc Weatherstone became Wingate & Finchley's record appearance holder, pulling on the shirt for the four hundred and fifty second time. But now we'll be celebrating a new milestone- his first appearance for Enfield Town, after Andy Leese finally captured a target he'd been hoping to bring to the club in the summer.

Weatherstone was a big part of Dulwich Hamlet's promotion last season, turning out forty two times and scoring four important goals, but the lure of Summers Lane proved strong and he decided to remain in the Bostik Premier Division and return to the club where he was already a legend. He's enhanced his reputation with the faithful at the Maurice Rebak Stadium even further this year, but has now jumped ship- and may well be in the Towners squad at home to Harlow Town this afternoon.
