A Bee buzzes into Town

Barnet defender heads to Donkey Lane

Enfield Town have announced the signing of Barnet defender Joe Payne on a short-term loan.

Payne has been at Barnet for nine years, and made his first team debut aged seventeen three years ago. Bostik League fans may also remember him from the fifteen matches he played on loan for Grays Athletic in 2016/17. He has spent much of this season on the bench for the Bees.

Towners boss Andy Leese, speaking to the club website, stated:

“Joe is a versatile young defender who I have known for a number of years. We feel we need to have more options defensively with the run in, including the League Cup final, and Joe will give us that for the next month or so. He’s a local boy and I’m sure supporters will like his approach to the game."
