A Chats double

Khale da Costa and Slavomir Huk new at Chatham Town

Chatham Town had two debutants as they defeated Cheshunt on Saturday, as Khale da Costa and Slavomir Huk made their debuts.

Goalkeeper Slavomir Huk joins the club on loan from Dorking Wanderers. Slav is something of a Dorking legend. He was the hero as Wanderers eased their way out of the Isthmian South Division in 2016-17, saving two penalties in the shootout after winning the club's Player of the season Award. He then went on to be immense as Dorking won our 2018-19 Premier Division title at a canter, playing a rather phenomenal fifty three times in the process.

He has been with Dorking since 2015, joining the club after moving to the UK from Slovakia, and since leaving our ranks has been a regular in the National League.

He spent a short time on loan at Bognor Regis Town during 21-22, playing only once but keeping a clean sheet in victory over Carshalton Athletic, and last season spent some time with Leatherhead, playing twenty one times. More recently he has been on loan at Bath City in National League South.

Winger Khale has most recently been with Concord Rangers, and has scored two goals in thirteen appearances this season. He ended last season at Enfield Town, playing seven times and scoring in the first two, after moving to North London from Chelmsford City.

Khale joined the Clarets in the summer of 2022, making the move from fellow National South side Braintree Town. He has also played in the National League for Dover Athletic, Tonbridge Angels, Concord Rangers and St Albans City.

He has a great deal of Isthmian experience, although none of his former Isthmian sides are still with us. Ware, Hanwell Town, Harrow Borough, Harlow Town and Hendon are on that list.
