A couple of new Millers

By Ian Townsend

Aveley additions

Aveley have strengthened their squad, bringing in two players before they travel to face East Grinstead Town in the FA Trophy this afternoon.

The first is a striker. George Sykes moves across from Tilbury, where he has made ten appearances this season, scoring three goals- following on from the ten in twenty five he got for the Dockers last season. He came through the ranks at Barnet, and has also played for Bishop's Stortford, Farnborough, St Albans City, Canvey Island, Dartford and Maldon & Tiptree. Read more here.

Joining George is an Urchin- midfielder James Goode. Jamie is perhaps best known for his time just along the road from the Millers, as he played for the now sadly-defunct Thurrock, before following his then manager Mark Stimson first to Waltham Abbey and then to Hornchurch. After spending most of his time at Bridge Avenue on the bench, he's decided to try pastures new- and you can read more about that move here.

Where next?

Three Bridges. No Goals. A match between the two lowest scoring sides in the South East Division didn't promise to be a goalfest. That promise was kept.
