A Friendly- and County Cup- Round up

By Ian Townsend

As well as our Trophy matches, we had a few other competitive-and less competitive- matches last night. Here’s what happened.

We’re going to start in the County Cups, and in Surrey, where- even though Ashford Town are in Middlesex- the Tangerines had something of a goal fest against Croydon, leaving the Trams feeling as if they’d been run over by a, well, tram. Max Bunyan got two, Kane Fitzgerald got two, Bradley Sweeney got two, and Dale Burnham let us all down by only getting one, as the hosts ran out seven-one victors.

Haywards Heath Town were on the road in the Sussex Senior Cup, and got four at Horsham YMCA. Jordan Clark got three and a match ball, Anfi-war Tran-West got the other. Headline image from Simon Roe, and the rest can be found here.

Onto friendly action and Barking and Basildon Utd shared four goals equally, Michael Tweed and Jeremy Boakye-Afiriyie scoring for the hosts, Baker and Joseph for the Bees.

Hertford Town travelled to Berkhamsted, the hosts winning four-two- Town goalscorers unknown- whilst at the Len Salmon Tilbury overcame hosts Bowers and Pitsea by three goals to one. Luca Albon gave Bowers the lead, Brian Moses, and own goal and a trialist scored for the Dockers- although they’ve credited the own goal to Lee Noble so we’ll let the clubs ague about that!

Dereham Town were taking on Mulbarton and we’ve no idea what happened, but we do know that Hanwell Town defeated Harrow Borough three-one, two of their goals coming from Dan Carr and Ogo Obi and the middle one we’re not sure about.

Horsham defeated Chichester City SIX-FOUR, Dsane, Brivio, Taylor, Hariss, Laing and Wilson scoring for the hosts, Callum Overton scoring four for the visitors.

Merstham lost two-nil at home to Kingstonian, Gus Sow and Elliott Buchanan scoring for the K’s, whilst we don’t know what happened when Punjab United entertained Faversham Town behind closed doors.

Thame United and Chalfont St Peter drew one-one, scorer unknown, whilst Tooting & Mitcham Utd and East Grinstead Town also drew, two-two. Sanogo and Uchechi scored for the Wasps, and we know that Dixon got the first for the Terrors but we don’t know who got the second.

Wisbech Town hosted Soham Town Rangers, and Jonny Kaye and Toby Andrews scored in a two-nil win for the Greens.
