A Friendly round up: 9 July 2022

Lots of our sides were in pre-season action yesterday. Here’s what happened.


We had a number of matches in the heat yesterday, and- with apologies if we miss any- here’s what happened. Please note- we’re relying mainly on social media for outcomes and scorers.

Cray Wanderers welcomed Tonbridge Angels and honours were shared. Cook was the scorer for Wands in a one-one draw.

Brightlingsea Regent also ended up with a draw, in their case two-two, at Fisher. Ollie Sotoyinbo got both of Regent’s goals.

Margate defeated Glebe by four goals to two as Andy Drury faced his first match as Blues boss. Oliver, Oluwasemo (2) and a Trialist scored for Gate.

Hornchurch won three-one at Barking, Ellis Brown, Ola Ogunwamide and Sam Higgins scoring for the Urchins.

Potters Bar Town won four-three at Ashford United. Wisson, Uewzu and a Trialist scored for the Nuts and Bolts, and we know that Boachie and Parchment were amongst the scorers for the Scholars.

Haringey Borough defeated Chelmsford City two-one, Georgiou and Hewitt-Byrne with the goals for the hosts. Carshalton Athletic lost two-one to Hythe Town, Jake Embury scoring for the Robins, Ethan Smith and Johan Caney-Bryan securing the win for the Cannons.

Herne Bay defeated Tooting & Mitcham Utd one-nil, whilst Enfiend Town won by the same scoreline at Cockfosters, Della-Verde with the goal. Canvey Island fell one-nil against local rivals Concord Rangers.

Bowers and Pitsea went down four-nil against Hashtag United at the Len Salmon, Alex Teniola scoring two, whilst Aveley and Hullbridge Sports drew two-two at Parkside. Harry Brown scored both for the Millers.

Wingate & Finchley defeated New Salamis four-nil. Tyrique Clarke was amongst the scorers.

AFC Sudbury defeated Harlow Town one-nil, Josh Stokes finding the back of the Hawks net, whilst Witham Town won four-one at Whitton United.

Coggeshall Town won two-one at Brantham Athletic, whilst goals from Sherwood and Hinton gave Lowestoft Town a two-nil victory over Kirkley & Pakefield. Gorleston were two-nil winners at Great Yarmouth Town, whilst Tilbury drew two-two at Buckhurst Hill.

Great Wakering Rovers drew one-one at Stanway Rovers.

Binfield welcomed Maidenhead United and fell to a four-one defeat, whilst Leatherhead fell three-two to Hartley Wintney.

Merstham left Erith & belvedere with a one-one draw, whilst Thatcham Town defeated Wokingham & Emmbrook two-nil. Southall drew two-two at Harefield United.

Uxbridge defeated Beaconsfield two-nil.

Chichester City were three-one winners at Pagham, Overton with one of those, whilst Whitehawk defeated Dulwich Hamlet, Javaun Splatt scoring for the Hawks. Littlehampton Town fell three-one to Farnham Town, and Cray Valley PM won two-one at Bridon Ropes. Denzel Gayle got the Millers winner.

Chatham Town won six-nil at Rochester United, Bradshaw, Cooper, Evans, Oloyede and Pugh amongst the scorers, whilst Sheppey United fell five-one as they hosted Maidstone United.

Colliers Wood defeated Haywards Heath Town four-one, whilst Beckenham Town scored three against Welling United, however the visitors got seven.
