Michael Finneran and Harry Phillips strengthen Maldon & Tiptree

Maldon & Tiptree have a big match today, as they travel to face local rivals Heybridge Swifts- and boss Peter Taylor has strengthened his squad with the arrivals of Michael Finneran and Harry Philips.

Defender Michael was the skipper of Canvey Island's Pitching In Isthmian North promotion-winning squad last season. He made thirty seven appearances for the Gulls as they triumphed via the Play Off's, and has made eight more appearances this season. He first became a Gull during the first pandemic-hit campaign of 2019-20.

Prior to his time with Canvey he turned out for Grays Athletic, Romford, Bowers and Pitsea and Basildon United.

Midfielder Harry Phillips has rather less experience than Michael, albeit at a higher level. He came through the ranks at Southend United, playing both Under 21 and first team football. He also spent a short loan spell with Billericay Town during their National League South days.
