A Maldon double

By Ian Townsend

Callum Stringer and Tom Middlehurst sign on for the new campaign at Maldon & Tiptree

Maldon & Tiptree have announced a pair of new arrivals- although one of them has been a Jammer in the past.

The returning Jammer is goalkeeper Tom Middlehurst. Tom started last season with the Jammers, making fifteen appearances after signing on during the summer, before departing for Aveley and playing only once- in victory over Folkestone Invicta. He ended up at Coggeshall Town after departing Parkside, and played twenty five times, but despite his best efforts the Seed Growers couldn't hold onto their Pitching In isthmian North status.

Previously, Tom was a Cheltenham Town youth who moved to Queens Park Rangers as an under seventeen, and played for the club at Under 18 and Under 23 level. He played half a season on loan with Harlow Town.

Midfielder Callum Stringer has played in his home country of Ireland, coming through the youth ranks at Waterford to play for the Under 19 and first team. He moved on to Cobh Ramblers, and this will be his first UK football experience.
