A new forward in Town

Basingstoke Town snap up Marcio Neves

Basingstoke Town have announced the signing of Marcio Neves, a young forward who moves up from Alresford Town.

Marcio, a student down the road in Southampton, only joined Alresford in the summer. He has scored six goals in seventeen matches for the Wessex League side this season, and made his last appearance for them in defeat against Bashley on February 8th.

Boss Dan Brownlie told the club website:

“Marcio will provide something a little different across our forward line. He’s got great feet – he could find space in a shoebox that kid. With that talent though, he also incredible tenacious and rats around players really well. Out of possession he’ll be a real asset as he has a great knack of winning the ball back in high areas.”
