A Premier Non League Day

By Ian Townsend

We've lots of offers across the Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division as our sides step out for Non League Day- here's what we have to tempt you

At this stage of the season every matchday is a big day, but as it’s Non League Day a number of our clubs have special things happening to attract extra support.

We’ll start at Potters Bar Town, who welcome Kingstonian. The Scholars are in fine form, the K’s fighting desperately for survival, so this is an attractive match- but it’s been made all the more attractive by the fact that admission is FREE!

Billericay Town really need the points if they are to get their play off chase back on track, but our seventh place side will find it difficult, as they welcome opponents two places and one point better off, Wingate and Finchley. The Blues have announced reduced price admission- Adults £5 | Concession £3 | Under 18s FREE- and a free drink at the bar for season ticket holders who pick up a token at the turnstiles!

Bognor Regis Town are letting all Under 16’s in for free as they take on Dulwich Hamlet- and the Rocks are also offering face painting, a crossbar challenge, a draw for a signed shirt, a raffle, live music, a happy hour (and a half) in the bar, and craft beer- we’re not sure all these offers appeal to the same audience, but we are sure that both sides need the points if they are to challenge for a play off place!

Canvey Island welcome Hashtag United, and admission for all Premier League / Football League season ticket holders is half price!

Chatham Town play host to Haringey Borough, the Chats taking the chance to promote the magnificent work of Prostate Cancer UK- and also looking to cut down on the Hornchurch lead at the top- whilst their visitors, nine points from safety, need to upset the apple cart.

Cheshunt have opened up an eight point gap between themselves and the danger zone and would very much like to make that larger, but have promotion chasing Carshalton Athletic making the trip to North London with their eyes fixed firmly on a ply off spot. The Ambers have cut their prices- Adults: £10, Concession: £5, Young Person (13-17): £2, Child (Under 12): £1.

Horsham welcome Hastings United for a Sussex derby, and the Hornets have lots in store. Between 12-1.30pm 25% off all drinks, Premier and EFL fans can get in for £5 with their season ticket, live music from Taygan Paxton from 5pm. And, of course, fourth v eighth, five points between them, the hosts knowing that defeat could see them drop out of the top five, the visitors aware that three points could see them end the day in a play off spot.

Lewes welcome Concord Rangers, the Rooks teaming up with Prostate Cancer UK and working hard to promote the charity and raise awareness of the risk. Focusing on the football, Rangers are twelve points from safety and every match is beginning to enter the category of ‘must win.’

Margate play host to Enfield Town, both sides rather desperate for points- the hosts as they try to narrow the eight point gap between themselves and safety, the visitors as they try to ensure a play off place. Gate are offering half price entry for all, and special food offers- Curry, rice, peas and sweet coleslaw £6, Double bacon and cheese burger £5.50.

Finally, Whitehawk play host to our leaders, Hornchurch. The Hawks are another club who are using the day to promote the fine work of Prostate Cancer UK, are are in fine form. Hornchurch are nine points clear at the top but suffered late defeat on the Sussex coast in midweek and will not want that to be a habit.
