Felixstowe and Walton United have announced the signing of midfielder Jacob Lay from Eastern Counties side Whitton United.

Jacob, who was part of the youth setup at AFC Sudbury, moved from there to play youth football for Championship club Preston North End, before joining the Academy at Braintree Town. He has some North Division experience, as he spent a short time at Witham Town at the end of last season.

He scored in Whitton United's victory over St Margaretsbury on Saturday, and got the winner as his former club knocked South Central side Hertford Town out of the FA Cup last month.
