A Woods trio

By Ian Townsend

Aldershot Town's George Milner Smith, Binfield's Zeid Hannachi and former Tangerine Prince Mbengui are new at Northwood

Northwood had a new defender in their side as they welcomed Chipstead on Saturday- although sadly for him and the home faithful he couldn't prevent the Woods from conceding the only goal of the game.

George Milner Smith is with the Woods for a month. He came through the ranks at Aldershot Town, and has played for the club at Under 19 and Under 21 level, signing his first professional deal a month ago. He has already had a loan spell away from the Rec, spending time with Fleet Town last season.

The Woods also had two new midfielders.

Zeid Hannachi was formerly with Thatcham Town, where he made seventeen appearances during 2021-22, and Binfield, where he made seven appearances this season. The midfielder has also spent time with Guildford City and Wokingham & Emmbrook, after coming through the youth setup at Reading. He has already played against the Woods for the Moles three times this season.

Prince Mbengui has had two spells with Staines Town and two spells with Uxbridge. He also spent time with Hendon in Southern Premier South, ended the 21-22 season at Tooting and Mitcham United, and last season made thirty two appearances for Ashford Town.
