AB1 Golden Gloves Awards- December 2022

It’s time to recognise our best defences of December. Please note, the outcomes are all calculated on statistics in league matches.

Premier Division

Once more, it’s the story of the Blues! Bishop’s Stortford had a fabulous December- an unbeaten month which saw them win three matches out of four and keep two clean sheets in the process. Jack Giddens has so many pairs of golden gloves that we suspect he could open his own shop, but now he has another set on their way, richly deserved. Many congratulations to Jack, and to his rather stingy defence.

North Division

We’re boarding our yacht once more and heading to the Norfolk Broads, because that’s where all the best Yachtsmen hang out! Wroxham is our destination, and December was marvellous for the club, who went unbeaten, rapidly climbed the table and delivered two clean sheets. Given the keeping duties have shared by brothers Ollie Sutton and Harry Sutton during the month, perhaps they can have one glove each?!

Many congratulations to both goalkeepers, and to their outstanding defence.

South Central Division

We’ve already delivered a Manager of the Month prize to Thatcham Town, and we’re off there again, which perhaps proves that success is built on a strong defence! The Kingfishers had an unbeaten December, which included clean sheets against Uxbridge and Ashford Town, and it’s time to pay tribute to goalkeeper Toby Fisher and all those who stand in front of him. Many congratulations to all at the club.

South East Division

We’re delivering our second December prize to our leaders, Ramsgate, as a pair of gloves heads to the WW Martin Stadium. The Rams delivered an unbeaten December and kept two clean sheets, results which consolidated their place at the top of the table and which will deliver a pair of golden gloves to Josh Bexon, who has been having a fine season between the sticks. Many congratulations to Josh, and to his almost-impermeable back line.
