Alan Turvey Trophy semi-final review

By David Watters

Kingstonian beat Ryman Premier rivals Wingate & Finchley 4-2 on penalties at Kingsmeadow on Monday night after drawing 2-2 in the semi-finals of the Alan Turvey Trophy sponsored by Robert Dyas, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Andre McCollin opened the scoring after just 33 seconds but Wingate came back with a debut goal in the 10th minute for Leyton Orient loanee Freddie Moncur.

K's took the lead for the second time when McCollin notched his second with a free-kick from outside the area.

After Wingate `keeper Bobby Smith was carried off after sustaining a blow to the head and neck area, the visitors took over the game and it was no surprise when Billy Healey equalised in the 54th minute, taking advantage of a defensive error.
