An Invicta quartet

Prior to our transfer deadline on Thursday, Folkestone Invicta announced a selection of new arrivals- mainly from Gillingham!

Folkestone Invicta announced the arrivals of three Gills and an Iron on Thursday evening.

Simo Mbonkwi moves over from National League side Braintree Town, and the midfielder started the campaign at Hungerford Town. Prior to that he spent some time in Norway, and in his native Belgium- but this isn't his first Isthmian experience, as he spent a little while with Bedfont Sports during the 2018-19 season, playing twenty seven times and scoring three goals.

Sam Gale comes in from Gillingham on a dual registration deal. Sam is also a midfielder, and has been in and around the first team squad on occasions. He has also spent time on loan at Lordswood in the SCEFL.

Joseph Gbode is also a Gill, and a forward. You might recognise his name as he was recently on loan at Margate, grabbed an assist on his debut against Horsham, and played five times in total.

Joseph already has first team experience for the Gills despite his tender years- he's only sixteen- coming on from the bench against Cheltenham Town and Crewe Alexandra last November. He signs on a dual registration deal.

The final Gillingham starlet is Alex Giles, a centre back. Alex already has Pitching In Isthmian League experience this season, as he spent some time at Faversham Town, playing twice and seeing his side keep a clean sheet on both occasions.
