Basildon United's top managerial team halves in size as Wakeling departs

It is only four weeks since Basildon United appointed former Hullbridge Sports managerial duo Darren Manning and James Wakeling to lead their side, but now two has become one, as Wakeling has announced his departure. In a statement on social media last night he explained:

'Sometimes football circumstances don’t work out how you see them going! Therefore I've made a tough decision to step down from
Basildon United.

I wish you all the very best and I’ll be over to support when I can!

Good luck for the season. Up the bees.'

United currently sit in fifteenth place in Pitching In Isthmian North. They welcome bottom side Coggeshall Town on Saturday.
